Short biography
Dr. Georgios Karopoulos received his Diploma of Information and Communication Systems Engineer in 2003, his M.Sc. in Information and Communication Systems Security in 2005, and his Ph.D. in Computer Network Security in 2009, all from the department of Information and Communication Systems Engineering, University of the Aegean, Greece. He has held positions as an adjunct lecturer at the University of the Aegean (department of Information and Communication Systems Engineering) in 2010, and as a postdoctoral researcher at IIT-CNR (Italy) in 2010-2011 and JRC (Italy) in 2012-2014. He has been a guest editor in Elsevier's Computer Communications. Currently, he is a researcher in the Communication Networks Laboratory of the University of Athens and his research interests are in the areas of network security, Smart Grid security and Critical Infrastructure protection. He is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece.
