Means, Tools and Equipment


The Energy Policy Group in order to accomplish tasks and studies uses a variety of up-to-date computer tools and models.

The hardware consists of powerful IBM compatibles, Pentiums and i486 machines, equipped with large capacity hard disks and appropriate amounts of RAM.

Also on site are two internet-connected VAX terminals and a SUN Sparcstation 20 with 1.2 GM hard disk and 32 MB of RAM.

Furthermore, presentation tasks are carried out with the use of an i486 laptop computer and a portable projector machine connected to it, using sound and wireless control.

Software tools concerning most tasks, are Microsoft Windows for Workgroups, Windows 95 and Ms Office but for energy studies, the WASP and ENPEP models are used, as well as custom made ones in Ms Excel, Lotus 123, Rats, TSP and Statgraphics.
