Teaching:
Prof. Halatsis has taught a variety of
subjects both at the undergraduate and the postgraduate level.
Undergraduate: Introduction to Computer Science, Logic Design,
Computer Architecture, Operating Systems, Expert Systems and Logic Programming,
Artificial Intelligence, Theory of Computation , Games Theory, Complexity
Theory.
Postgraduate: Expert Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Automated
reasoning .
Research Interests:
Prof. Halatsis has a wide range of research
interests. He has conducted research in the following areas: Computer
Architecture, Logic design, VLSI design, Artificial Intelligence, Expert
Systems, Knowledge Engineering, Logic Programming and Prolog machines, Data and
Knowledge bases, Constraints-based programming, Optimization of Scheduling and
Planning, Computer Networks, Multimedia and Hypermedia systems, Virtual
Reality, Parallel computing, Parallel algorithms, HPCN, Software Engineering,
Systems Analysis and Design.
R&D Projects:
Prof. Halatsis has participated, mostly as
project leader, in several R&D projects funded by either the Commission of
EU or national funding bodies. Details may be found HERE. Currently, he is leading the project Virtual Museums
funded by the Greek GSRT.
