Short bio

In 2005, I received my PhD from the Dept. of Informatics and Telecommunications of the University of Athens, under the supervision of Prof. Ioannidis. The title of my thesis is “Query Personalization based on User Preferences”. Following that, I worked for one year as a researcher in the Database Lab of the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications of University of Athens. I also hold a M.Sc. in Advanced Information systems and a diploma in Informatics from the Department of Informatics of the University of Athens.

Research Interests

My current interests include several issues regarding information access in databases, information retrieval systems, the web, or their intersection, and in particular:

various aspects of personalization, such as personalized search, collaborative search, context-aware information access, user modeling
user profiling, data mining
keyword searches, information discovery
query processing and optimization
