Hello, welcome to my home page

My name is Panagis Magdalinos and I am a research associate in the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications of the University of Athens (UoA). In 2010 I acquired my PhD diploma entitled "Linear and Non Linear Dimensionality Reduction for Distributed Knowledge Discovery" from the Department of Informatics of the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) under the supervision of associate professor Michalis Vazirgiannis . I also hold an M.Sc. in Information Systems from AUEB and a B.Sc. degree in Informatics and Telecommunications from UoA. 

I have been working as a research associate for the SCAN group since 2004 and have participated in a number of European research projects, namely EČR, EČR II, E3, SelfNET, CONSERN, SmartAgrifood and LiveCity undertaking technical as well as managerial duties. My research interests focus on supervised and unsupervised knowledge extraction from distributed data collections (i.e., Learning and Mining in Distributed Environments, Parallel Data Mining ...)
