Introduction

The Signal and Image Processing Laboratory belongs to the Division of Communications and Signal Processing of the Department of Informatics & Telecommunications, University Of Athens.

The Signal and Image Processing Group is actively involved in research and education. The research interests cover a wide spectrum of topics in Signal and Image Processing and their Applications, with an emphasis on Communications, Pattern Recognition, Speech, Audio and Music Processing, and Systems Theory.

It supports a complete post graduate program in Signal Processing for Communications and Multimedia. In the context of the post graduate program it offers courses such as Advanced Topics in Signal and Image Processing, Compression and Coding, Pattern Recognition, Computer Vision, Speech Processing.

The group has eight faculty members, six research associates and twenty eight research assistants.
