Humans


Alexander Alexander, Lyta
Patricia Tallman stars as Lyta Alexander. Lyta Alexander was the first resident telepath stationed on Babylon 5. In the pilot movie The Gathering she scaned the Vorlon Ambassador Kosh, in order to find the entry point of the poison. Being the first human to ever scan a Vorlon, she was immediately transfered back to Earth, along with Dr. .., of B5, because of their knowledge about the nature of the Vorlons. Near the end of Season 2 she reappears to expose the sleeper personality implanted in Talia Winters.


Allan Allan, Zack
Jeff Conaway stars As Zack Allan. Zack Allan is a member of the security team of Babylon 5. When Jack, the right hand of Garibaldi during the first season, is found out to be a member of the conspirators that killed president Santiago, Zack Allan takes over as asistant of Garibaldi. Zack becomes a member of the Night Watch, an organization established by the Ministry of Peace, to help keep the peace among humans , in ..... At the end of season two, Zack Allan is not happy, being a member of the Night Watch, but is afraid that he will be charged with sedition if he leaves.



Cole Cole, Marcus
Jason Carter stars as Marcus Cole. Marcus Cole is one of the Rangers. He appears in the third season of Babylon 5. His brother was also a Ranger but was killed by the Shadows. That is the reason that Cole joined the Rangers. He is presently stationed on Babylon 5, and is a member of the War Council introduced by Sheridan in Matters Of Honor.



Franklin Franklin, Stephen
Richard Biggs stars as Dr. Stephen Franklin. Franklin is the doctor that was sent Babylon 5 when Doctor .. was recalled to Earth. He is commited to his work and will operate outside the rules if there is a need. An expert in Xenobiology, he has hitch-hiked his way around the Galaxy, offering his medical services on the ships he boarded. His knowledge about alien races is excellent, that is why his father in GROPOS suggested he should be working in Earth Force labs. His commitment to his work has driven him to the use of stims to keep up with the work. This "addiction" could lead him to a dangerous situation in the future.



Garibaldi Garibaldi, Michael
Jerry Doyle stars as Security Chief Michael Garibaldi. Garibaldi was assigned as chief of security on Babylon 5 after Sinclair's request. His has a troubled past, passing through many posts. He has a history of alchoholisms, which he has overcome. As security chief he is very thorough and effective. In Chrysalis he uncovered the plot to kill president Luis Santiago, but was shot in the back before he could avert it. His is close friend with Sinclair, and has come to trust Sheridan, allthough he had his doubts at first.



Ivanova Ivanonva, Susan
Claudia Christian stars as Commander Susan Ivanonva. Lt. Commander Ivanova was assigned on Babylon 5 after Lt. Commander Takashima left. She is of Russian decent and overly pessimistic. She was promoted to Commander in Points Of Departure. She fears and hates the Psi-Corps ever since they drove her mother to suicide. Later on in Divided Loyalties she reveals to Captain Sheridan the fact that she is a latent telepath. According to her own sayings her rating is lower than a P1, but we are left to wonder, when she succesfully blocks Lyta's efforts to scan her.



Sheridan Sheridan, John
Bruce Boxleitner stars as Captain John Sheridan. Sheridan was sent to replace Sinclair in command of Babylon at the beggining of the second season. He was the only Earth Force officer to score a victory against the Minbari during the war. His assignment as commander of Babylon 5 was therefore met with objections from the Minbari especialy those of the warrior caste. We discover in All Alone In The Night, that he was placed in Babylon 5, to assist the resistance against the changes taken place inside the Earth Government. After learning that his wife Anna Sheridan was killed by the Shadows, he pledged himself to help in the coming war. Presently he is in charge with Delenn of all the Rangers stationed in Babylon 5, and has recently been placed also, in command of the White Star.



Sinclair Sinclair, Jeffrey
Michael O'Hare stars as Commander Jeffrey Sinclair. Sincalir was the commanding officer of Babylon 5 during the years 2257 and 2258. He was placed as CO of B5 after the request of the Minbari Goverment. Sinclair fought at the battle of the Line, where as we learn he was captured by the Minbari and later released. During his captivity the Grey Council discovered that Minbari souls, could appear in human souls, and then decided end the war by surrendering At the beggining of Season 2 Sinclair is replaced by Sheridan and is stationed as an Ambassador on Minbar. He has an important destiny, a glimpse of which we get to see in Babylon Squared.



Winters Winters, Talia
Andrea Thomson stars as Talia Winters. Talia Winters was the resident commercial telepath of Babylon 5. In the beggining of the first Season she was established as an important character, when her old friend Jason Ironheart empowered her with telekinetic abilities in Mind War. However by the end of Season 2, it was discovered that she had a sleeper personality, put in place by Psi-Corps in order to better control what was happening in B5. Lyta Alexander exposed the sleeper inside Talia, and Talia was removed from the station. According to JMS himself Talia is a dead character as far as the series is concerned. She has been removed from the cast of the third Season, but nobody, except JMS himself, knows for sure if she will reappear in the following seasons.




Minbari


Delenn Delenn
Mira Furlan stars as Minbari Ambassador Delenn. She is a member of the religious caste. Delenn was a member of the Grey Council, the ruling body of the Minbari. In Chrysalis she undergoes a transformation in , to fullfil a prophecy. After the transformation she acquired human characterisitcs. This has resulted in her being expelled from the Grey Council in .... As we learn in Comes the Inquisitor Delenn as well as Sheridan are the chosen ones to lead the army of light in the upcoming war.



Lennier Lennier
Bill Mumy stars as Lennier. Lennier is a monk-like figure. He is the assistant of ambassador Delenn, on Babylon 5. He was one of the few that knew Delenn's position in the Grey Council. Like Delenn he is also of the religious caste. He is very faithfull to Delenn, and accepts her transformation without question because he knows of the prophecy and the role she is going to play in the coming war.




Narn


G'Kar G'Kar
Andreas Katsulas stars as Citizen G'Kar. G'Kar until the was the official represantative of the Narn Regime, when one existed, on Babylon 5. Since then he is a fugitive, because he is the last free member of the K'Ree the ruling body of the Narn government. He requested and received asylum on B5. A great patriot, has tried to turn all situtations to the advantage of his people, now is organizing a movement to liberate his homeworld. His hate for the Centauri, comes from the previous occupation of the Narn homewolrd by the Centauri. Deeply spiritual he has studied the holy book of G'Quon, from where he acquired knowledge about the Ancient Enemy. He was the fist to realize that the Shadows were helping the Centauri.




Centauri


Vir Cotto, Vir
Stephen Furst stars as Vir Cotto. Vir is the assistant to the Centauri ambassador Londo Mollari. Although Londo never heeds his councels, Vir nonetheless continues to advice him. He was the first one to openly confront Morden in .... His has often confronted Londo about the association with Morden and his friends, to no avail.



Mollari Mollari, Londo
Peter Jurasik stars as Centauri Ambassador Londo Mollari. Londo Mollari appeared to be the comic element, of the series. His only dream was that the Centauri Republic return to the days of it's greatness. His involvment with Morden and his associates, has made him one of the government's most powerful figures. It was through him that the Centauri, with the help of Morden and his associates, overpowered the Narn Regime. He has at the end realized, the great danger involved in his association with Morden and the Shadows.




Vorlon


Kosh Naranek Naranek, Kosh
The image of the Vorlon Ambassador Kosh Naranek is created by Animatronics, the voice belongs to Ardwight Chamberlain. Ambassador Kosh and the Vorlons are the most secretive race on Babylon 5. Upon his arrival on the station, at The Gathering he was poisoned. The only humans to ever see a Vorlon, the Doctor that cured him and Lyta Alexander, the telepath that scanned him, were recalled to Earth. He is always inside his encounter suit, even when inside his methane-filled quarters. He starts teaching Sheridan how to fight legends in The Coming Of Shadows. His true form is only revealed in The Fall Of Night, when he leaves his encounter suit to rescue Sheridan. Scarcely speaks, and even then he is very cryptic, revealing only what is needed and nothing more.




Shadows


Morden Morden
Ed Wasser stars as Morden. Though technically Morden is human, he is acting as a liaison between the Shadows and the other races. Morden was the only one to survive from a scientific expedition at Z'ha'dum. Since then his has been cooperating with the shadows, with whom he can communicate directly. He approached the ambassadors on behalf of the Shadows, but only Londo seemed to qualify for his purposes. With his associates he has aided the Centauri to regain the Narn Homeworld. At present he has made contacts with high officials in Earth Dome and the Psi-Corps, which means that the Shadows are seeking to expand more actively.
