Downloading and installation
Downloading
You can download a full version (15.19 M binhexed stuffit archive) or a smaller version (4.27 M binhexed stuffit archive). The latter contains fewer data files but otherwise has the same functionality as the full version.
Installation
You can install the MAD directory anywhere you wish, but some of the demonstrations work best (e.g. make sensible guesses about where example files are stored) if you place the MAD directory in the Toolbox directory of your MATLAB distribution. Don't forget to update your MATLAB path.
The structure of the MAD directory
The MAD directory contains a subdirectory for each demo, plus three further directories:
- library: contains MATLAB source files used by several of the demos. This should be on your path.
- data: a home for certain data files associated with the demonstrations (although some data files are kept locally in the demo subdirectory).
- docs: HTML documentation. Again, some of this is held locally with the demos.
