Also keep in mind that different universities have different grading scales. For that reason, grades may be adjusted from one institution to another. For example, assume that USI’s grade range is 1-10 with 6 being the passing grade. In UOA the range is 0-10 with 5 being the passing. To adjust the grade, we apply the formula:
\[Grade_{UOA} = \frac{10}{9}\cdot \left(Grade_{USI} - 1)\right)\]rounded to the closest 0.5 grade (MROUND(grade, 0.5) in excel). Similarly a “pass” grade is typically translated to 7.5. Last, if you take a class that is tangential to our field of study (e.g,. Italian), it will be counted as one of your “free” courses within UOA.
