ABSTRACT
| The ability to provide decision-makers with both accurate and timely information has become more challenging than ever. For example, participation in web-based business communities places significant demands for enterprise decision support far exceeding what database and data warehouse designers and administrators are accustomed to. The efficient maintenance of the warehouse views as the data sources are constantly updated and the seamless integration of many and possibly heterogeneous information feeders and consumers are requirements that must be met. Focusing on system and information quality as success variables, we perform a literature review and analysis in order to identify and present a number of major design, integration and maintenance research issues for data warehousing. Our aim is to help the practitioner establish a list of priorities, providing at the same time a much needed focus and guidance to the researcher. |
