NEWS: Our paper, "Detection and Delineation of Events and Sub-Events in Social Networks", got accepted at ICDE 2018!
>_ My name is Antonia Saravanou (Αντωνία Σαραβάνου in greek) and I am a 4th year Ph.D. Student at the Department of Computer Science and Telecommunications, University of Athens, under the supervision of Professor Dimitrios Gunopulos. I hold a M.Sc. degree in Advanced Information Systems and a B.Sc. degree in Computer Science from the same department. Since 2011, I work as a Research Assistant and Software Engineer in various research projects.
My research focus is on Data Mining, Graph and Text Mining, Social Network Analysis, Anomaly Detection and Machine Learning. Also, I am a member of the Knowledge Discovery in Databases Laboratory (KDDLab-UoA), the Management of Data, Information & Knowledge Group (Madgik-UoA) and the Human–Computer Interaction and Knowledge Discovery & Data Mining team (HCI-KDD).
In summer 2017, I did an internship at UBER! I worked on interesting engineering and machine learning problems related to anomaly detection in timeseries and I met with cool people working there. :-)
