Short CV

I am a Professor in the Dept. of Informatics and Telecommunications, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. I have been the Director of Graduate Studies for the department from 2020 to 2025.

In 2015, I was elected Fellow of the European Association of Artificial Intelligence (EurAI).

I have been a member of the EurAI Board since 2022. For the years 2019-2022, I have been Vice-President and President of the Hellenic Association for Artificial Intelligence (2019-2022).

I have been a Member of the Standing Scientific Committee for the introduction of Artificial Intelligence in the Justice system in Greece since March 2021.

I previously held positions at the Dept. of Electronic and Computer Engineering , Technical University of Crete (Assistant and Associate Professor), the Dept. of Informatics, University of Athens (Visiting Researcher), the Dept. of Computation, UMIST(now University of Manchester) (Lecturer) and the Dept. of Computing, Imperial College, London (Research Associate).

I hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science, from the National Technical University of Athens, an M.Sc. in Computer Science, from the University of Toronto, and a diploma (B.Sc.) in Mathematics, from the University of Crete.
